Kurzfilmprogramm: FOYER / OUMOUN / THIS DAY WON’T LAST

Ismaïl Bahri begibt sich mit seiner Kamera auf die Straße und lässt den Zufall entscheiden: In FOYER blockiert ein Blatt das Objektiv, der Wind regelt den Schnitt, das Rauschen der Straße vermischt sich mit den freundlichen Nachfragen mitteilsamer Passant*innen und wächst zu einem Strom von Geschichten, Wünschen und Klagen an. Fairuz und El Moïz Ghammam befragen mit OUMOUN das Gedächtnis einer Einzelnen, ihrer Großmutter, die ganz Alltägliches im Sinn hat. Dagegen richtet Mouaad el Salem den Blick auf die Zukunft Tunesiens – eines Landes, das queere Identitätsentwürfe unter Strafe stellt. THIS DAY WON’T LAST berührt die Frage, ob Entwurzelung unumgehbar ist für die, die wachsen wollen.

Short film program: FOYER / OUMOUN / THIS DAY WON’T LAST

Ismaïl Bahri takes his camera to the streets and lets chance take over: In FOYER, a sheet of paper blocks the lens, the wind becomes an editor, and the noise of the city mixes with the friendly inquiries of passersby and grows into a stream of stories, wishes and complaints. With OUMOUN, Fairuz and El Moïz Ghammam interrogate the memories of an individual, their grandmother, who is preoccupied by the quotidian rhythms of life. Mouaad el Salem, on the other hand, looks toward the future of Tunisia — a country that threatens to punish queer lives. THIS DAY WON'T LAST touches upon the question of whether uprooting is inevitable for those who want to grow.
