After years of avoiding her family, recently unemployed Hailey gets a phone call that compels her to return to her Maritime hometown. Before she can get back to her life and girlfriend out west, she must face some startling truths - about her parents, and the effects of her sudden departure on her sister and closest friends. Despite the conflict and pain, this is basically a loving, funny and cuddly film, involving two estranged sisters having to deal with a problematic Mom. Everybody seems to be a character, in that specifically Maritime off-the-wall sort of way.
