A gritty, no-holds-barred musical biography of musician John Murry, a talented “poet of the streets” who was born in Mississippi, but finds himself living in Ireland after a personal meltdown.

John Murry is a talented singer-songwriter, who seemed to be on the cusp of greatness after the release of his acclaimed album The Graceless Age in 201, but  that’s when the wheels fell off his career. Struggling with a heroin addiction and creative exhaustion John took refuge on the cliffs of County Clare. Now he wants to get back on his feet. The film follows John on a road trip back to Mississippi to confront the demons and abuse that still haunt him. Back in his hometown of Tupelo, John talks about his stints in juvie, his early marriage and fatherhood, and his use of drugs. He then travels to Toronto, where he rekindles a creative relationship with music legend Mike Timmins (of Cowboy Junkies fame), who produced his album A Short History of Decay. This beautiful documentary charts Murry’s journey from near death to redemption and a new zest for life and art.
