In THIS TIME a sixteen-year-old girl is determined to fulfil her deceased father's final wish by delivering his ashes to one of his closest friends…Liza Minnelli, even if it means blackmailing an alcoholic hearse driver to race her across the country. Little does she know that her unwilling chauffeur has been secretly hired by stepfather to take her to an anti-LGBT conversion camp.
This Time is an entertaining, coming of age, road movie in the tradition of GREEN BOOK, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and our own 2013 WFF opener CAS & DYLAN. A young woman on a journey of self-discovery and a cynical over-the-hill curmudgeon are reluctantly united in their quest to unlock secrets from the past. There are comic adventures and betrayals as Red Burns, played by Charles Martin Smith, is torn between his love of the bottle and his young charge’s quixotic quest. Charles Marrtin Smith is an acclaimed character actor, known for his appearances in such classics as AMERICAN GRAFFITI (unforgettable as Terry, 1973) and THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY (19780 and as a director of family-friendly films includign AIR BUD, DOLPHIN TALE 1 and 2 and A DOG’S WAY HOME.
