Seven shorts from the Wisconsin's Own section of our Festival touch on themes we can all relate to after this past year: loneliness, isolation, the need for human contact and the connections we have to those we long for, miss, or have been affected by, for better or worse. The characters in these films also use their alone time to make the sometimes tricky journey to connect with their inner selves.
Kate Corby masterfully fuses dance and film once again in this short piece that loosely plays off of the Western genre, offering a gendered perspective on the rugged individualism, archetypes, and violence of the “American West”. (BR)
