We continue our series of WOFFF annual lectures with a short illustrated talk with Dr Fran Pheasant-Kelly.

Dr Pheasant-Kelly discusses the work of Kathryn Bigelow, director of TV episodes, music videos, adverts, several short films and ten feature films, including Point Break, The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty and Detroit.

The talk focuses on Kathryn Bigelow as the first women director to achieve an Academy Award, and the strategies that she employs, both filmic and otherwise, that may have contributed to this success.

Dr Fran Pheasant-Kelly is a Reader in Screen Studies at the University of Wolverhampton.

This is WOFFF22 Online free event, available to all, from Friday 9 to Friday 30 September.
