THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL: CONVERSATION WITH SHOWRUNNERS


The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is one of today's hottest shows on the web, winner of 16 Emmy awards and garnering additional 20 Emmy nominations in 2020 alone. From conceiving of the original idea of the show, through the writing process, casting, directing and producing, the show’s creators, writers, directors and producers will share the behind the scenes process of this ground breaking program.

Michael Ausiello is the President and Editorial Director of TVLine.com, a television entertainment website owned by Penske Media that launched in 2010. Ausiello began his publishing career in 1997 at Soaps In Depth magazine before moving on to TVGuide.com in 2000, where he debuted his signature, spoiler-tinged “Ask Ausiello” column and established himself as a major player in the world of TV journalism. In 2008, he jumped to Entertainment Weekly, where he penned a column in the magazine as well as an award-winning blog on EW.com (both titled “The Ausiello Files”). His acclaimed first book, the memoir "Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies", was released by Simon Schuster in 2017 and became an instant best seller. A feature adaptation of the book is currently in development at Focus Features, with Michael Showalter attached to direct and Jim Parsons set to star.

Amy Sherman-Palladino began her career on ROSEANNE, where she was nominated for Emmy and Writers Guild Awards and was honored with a Peabody. In 2000, Sherman-Palladino created one of Warner Brother’s most popular series, GILMORE GIRLS, which earned widespread critical acclaim. 


Among later projects for Sherman-Palladino was the Fox comedy THE RETURN OF JEZEBEL JAMES and the ABC Family drama BUNHEADS. 2016 brought the highly anticipated return of GILMORE GIRLS to Netflix where Sherman-Palladino served as executive producer, writer and director. 

 

Currently, Sherman-Palladino is serving as creator, executive producer, director, and writer of the Prime Video series, THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL. The series has won sixteen Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, and Sherman-Palladino made Emmys history with wins for both Comedy Writing and Comedy Directing. THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL has also earned three Golden Globes, six Critics’ Choice Awards, five SAG Awards, two PGA Awards, a WGA Award, and a Peabody Award. 










Daniel Palladino broke into television in 1989 on the hit ABC series WHO'S THE BOSS? Palladino also spent two years on ROSEANNE, serving as Executive Producer. In 2000, he worked on the hit WB series GILMORE GIRLS and eventually segued into directing. He went on to serve in producing and directing roles on THE RETURN OF JEZEBEL JAMES and BUNHEADS. 

 

Palladino was executive producer and showrunner of FAMILY GUY for its initial two seasons, earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Animated Program for its debut season. From 2012-2013, he returned as a consulting producer. 

 

In 2016, Palladino helped navigate the return of GILMORE GIRLS, serving as executive producer, writer and director alongside series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. Palladino then served as Executive Producer and director on the Prime Video series THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, which has won sixteen Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, three Golden Globes and six Critics’ Choice Awards, as well as the Peabody and WGA award.
