Why do we work the way we do, and for what? The pandemic unearthed and exacerbated the endemic fault lines in our system. No paid sick days. Migrant worker deaths. Profit over the elderly in nursing homes. An unequal burden of disease on Black communities. A lack of power for workers to speak out. In this short doc, the audience is exposed to point of view stories from workers on the front lines in the hardest hit sectors.

Edwin - A personal support worker 'opened like a clam' to replace both of his lungs after COVID ravaged his long-term care home.

Marcos - A migrant agricultural worker fired for speaking out about unpaid wages and cramped living quarters that led to outbreaks.

Tiana - A 12-year old student turned spoken word artist, who rhymes off the impact of government decisions on her generation.

Natasha - A grocery store clerk whose sister caught COVID from the workplace and could not access paid sick days.

Gurinder - A former truck dispatcher who was brought back to life after a COVID infection from his wife's workplace in a distribution center.

Pratibha - A postal worker who talks about how COVID hit her workplace like a bomb, and the constant fear she felt that she would bring it home to her family.

Far beyond COVID, Fault Lines will have us questioning what our labor is worth. And what still needs to be fought for.
