Edward and Betsy saw the movie Moonstruck on their first date in 1987, and much to the dismay of their daughter Dana, have been quoting the film ever since. When craftsman & handyman extraordinaire Franco asks Edward how to safely dispose of leftover prescription pain medicine after his aunt died, Dana tries to keep her dad’s answer short and sweet.
Meanwhile, in preparation for Betsy’s mother “Gaga” to move in for a few months, Franco brings his sister-in-law to help clean the house and prepare for Gaga’s arrival. While trying to be hospitable and make Franco’s sister-in-law comfortable in new surroundings, Edward and Betsy inadvertently annoy her to the point of no return.
Many people flush unused prescriptions down the toilet believing that is the right thing to do, when in fact that action is polluting water ecosystems; most water treatment systems were never contemplated to filter out pharmaceutical pollutants. The moral of the story is just when you think you are doing the right thing, you might be incredibly wrong, but can always take the next right action.
