Mark Jenkin’s BAFTA Film Award-winning debut feature about gentrification, class animosity and the tides of time has been hailed as “a genuine modern masterpiece” and “one of the defining British films of the decade (The Guardian).” Powerfully assembled from close shots filmed with antique equipment on black-and-white stock, Jenkin uses early cinema aesthetics to examine the modern-day problem of gentrification in a small Cornish fishing village.

On Thursday, May 27 at 8 pm, community leaders Kim Souza, Matt Bucy and Kendra Coleburn will host a discussion about issues of tourist takeover, class conflict and gentrification as they affect White River Junction and Vermont generally. You will be sent the link when you purchase a ticket to the screening (or you can RSVP here)
