A war photographer embeds in a community of tree planters who overcome grueling conditions and emotional difficulties to bring back the forest. In this coming of age, character-driven story about a community of tree planters performing the backbreaking labour of replanting logging cut-blocks in BC Canada, a war photographer, once a tree planter herself, returns to capture on film the experience that taught her the values of hard work and perseverance in the face of devastation and impossible tasks. Does it, and do they, still have something to teach her? Set amidst the raw beauty and harshness of the landscape, the film celebrates the social solidarity of outsiders and plunges the viewer into a world most will never see for themselves.
