It is with surprise and apprehension that they learn that their whole family has been invited and the quiet announcement they had planned may not turn out as they had hoped. After a series of accidents leads authorities to question the safety of Grant Oly's backyard Minnesota Siberian tiger habitat, Oly is launched into a decade-long legal battle, resulting in the seizure and relocation of all of his tigers. Complete with a perhaps unreliable narrator and parties on both sides with their own narratives to advance, as well as some truly sincere and likable people who were caught up in the controversies surrounding the Minnesota tigers, this film raises a number of questions including what the proper relationship is between private individuals and members of endangered species and who should decide whether and under what conditions such animals are raised and cared for.
