In the heart of Los Angeles, one wild mountain lion captured the imagination of a city - and sparked a global movement. P22 mountain lion. P22 The Legacy Lives On tells the extraordinary true story of a lone cougar who defied the odds by surviving in Griffith Park, surrounded by freeways and human sprawl. From his mysterious arrival to becoming the face of urban wildlife conservation, this powerful 22-minute documentary traces P-22’s remarkable journey, the challenges he faced in isolation, and the indelible impact he left on science, public policy, and popular culture.

Through a fusion of cinematic wildlife footage, scientific insight, and intimate interviews with the conservationists and communities he inspired, the film explores how one big cat became a symbol of coexistence. P-22’s story galvanized support for the world’s largest wildlife crossing, a transformative step toward habitat connectivity. His life may have ended, but his legacy continues to change how we see our wild neighbors and fight to protect them, as the largest wildlife crossing in the world, the Wallis Annenberg Bridge will be completed in 2026.

This is more than the story of a mountain lion. It’s a call to action, to rewild our cities, rethink conservation, and remember the cat that changed everything.
