
These short films shake up the traditional narrative on a variety of subjects and give us an honest, raw, unapologetic perspective. Refusing to accept the current narrative, these films are trying to accomplish flipping the script, bringing awareness, shedding light on major issues facing our Arab communities and making their country and eventually the world a better place.
Dearborn - the city with the most concentrated community of Arabs from anywhere outside of the "Middle East" - comes together to mourn the loss of over 3,000 Palestinian children killed by the apartheid state of Israel.
About The Filmmaker
Malak Wazne-Fadlallah is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and photographer whose work focuses on building empowerment within the Dearborn, MI community.
Her work has been published in Vogue Arabia Magazine, Buzzfeed, and many other outlets. Malak has also been nominated for 3 student Emmys, invited to a White House event, received a scholarship for and attended a summer film program at Northwestern University, and has served in the National Smithsonian Youth Council in 2018. Most recently, Malak has received Best Photographer and Best Visual Artist in Detroit from Hour Magazine.
