About the Filmmaker




Samar is a Ph.D. Candidate in history at Georgetown University. She loves to research, investigate events, and share the stories she finds. Her research interests include women’s movements, gender, politics, sports, food history, and all things related to her grandmas.


As a content creator at Dot Lemon and DC Zesty Story, Samar combines her passion for history and storytelling to create zesty visual content and short films that shed light on topics she’s passionate about.
