The return of our Visions shorts program, showcasing outstanding, world-class short films by some of the most talented filmmakers of the dayFilled with diverse stories about youth, discover the stunning Miyazaki-esque animation of Dana Durr as she takes us through a story of loss under occupation, the unique and unlikely reunion of two lovers as told in the Cannes Palme d'Or winning work of Sameh Alaa and the beautiful filmmaking and empowering story that won Suzannah Mirghani over 18 awards in the past year. Peer into the new frontiers of storytelling from throughout the Arab World.

Morocco, 2004. Adil, aged 11, spends the summer playing with his friends and waiting for his idol, Olympic runner Hicham El Guerrouj, to compete in his last Games. 


The arrival of his father and older brother from France for a few days will mark him forever.


About the filmmaker:


Saïd Hamich was born in 1986 in Fez (Morocco). He is a graduate of the production department of national French film school La Fémis and winner of the Lagardère Foundation Prize. He was executive producer on several films including Hope by Boris Lojkine, Neither Heaven Nor Earth by Clement Cogitore, Sofia by Meryem Benm’Barek or Home Front by Lucas Blevaux. He produced some thirty shorts and several feature films such as Much Loved by Nabil Ayouch – in coproduction -, Northern Wind by Walid Mattar and Volubilis by Faouzi Bensaïdi. Return to Bollene, his first film as a director, nominee for Louis-Delluc Prize for best first film, was released theatrically in 2018.
