Doha Film Institute is proud to present a new program to feature emerging filmmaking talent in Qatar. This “Made in Qatar” program is created to support both student and independent filmmakers and to give them the opportunity to bring their voices on to the global stage. This is a collection of short films that are either made in Qatar or made by those who call it home – be it a Qatari national or a non-local resident.

Presented By Doha Film Institute as part of Year in Culture

Deep in the shipyards of Doha, amidst the whirring of table saws and heavy machinery, we enter the world of Dhow boat construction. Primarily still crafted by hand, with the metalwork relentlessly hammered and worked straight from the furnace, this silent meditative film gives us a glimpse into the precision engineering and expert craftsmanship that is involved in the creation of Qatar's most iconic vessel.
