Stalking Chernobyl: Exploration After Apocalypse examines the underground culture of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Three decades after the world's most infamous nuclear disaster, wildlife has returned in the absence of human settlements. Meanwhile, illegal hiking adventurers known as "stalkers," extreme sports aficionados, artists, and tour companies have begun to explore anew the ghostly, post-apocalyptic landscape. (APRIL 28-29)

Director’s Statement: Iara Lee

I wanted to show that a film that is, on its surface, about adventure and exploration, can also bring forward deeper conversations. These conversations go beyond post-apocalyptic tourism and encourage us to probe questions about the feasibility of nuclear power and the unintended consequences of pursuing high-tech solutions to our problems.

Food Pairing Suggestion:

Make a night of it! Senior Programmer Aura Johnson will pair this film with take out from Thai Pepper, ordering the Evil Jungle and a Summer Saint, of course.
