The sudden shift from in-person to online classes due to COVID 19 has led to increasingly invasive surveillance technologies in education, including the use of problematic online proctoring software purportedly aimed at addressing academic integrity. #tresdancing, the fourth film in the Screening Surveillance series, speculates on the effects of escalating surveillance and control through educational technology. In this near future fiction narrative, a young person has little choice as they are forced to ramp up their engagement with a new, experimental technology in order to make up for a failing grade.

A routine evening of a young babysitter turns into a real nightmare when the AI system supervising the house begins to receive the secret commands of someone, or something, who is clearly dissatisfied with her presence in this house. "Frequency" is a combination of supernatural horror themes with the SF genre in the style of "Black Mirror", coming from our passion for horror films based on an intriguing mystery and fascinating dark force as main opponent, as well as our interest in the subject of AI and new technologies. By creating this story, we wanted to offer fans of these genres a good time, by holding on to the framework of accepted conventions, although under the surface of the main storyline, this film also touches the universal and socially important aspects related to the technological revolution accelerating around us. Particularly it is our fear, or at least a growing anxiety, of new technologies and their interference in our everyday life - technologies that see, hear and often know more about us than ourselves, slowly turning into new, mysterious, omnipotent "black boxes", the principles of operation of which no one fully understands, although they increasingly determine many aspects of our lives. Moreover, in the modern, digitized world, it is not the traditional séances of spiritualism, curses and other old-style para-religious practices, but new technologies that may soon become the new gateway to our imagination through which various irrational fears about the world and reality will pass, not only the "paranormal". We live in unprecedented times, where progress and technological change are gaining momentum, changing our lives in the most unpredictable places and areas. I am one of those people who predict that the advancing technological revolution will significantly contribute to replacing human work with artificial intelligence algorithms combined with robotization. So it turns out that even the ancient "profession" of a spiritualist medium will not be able to avoid the threat of automation!

OMNIA: Germany. 30 min. A film which follows a young woman and her fight against regime that is control of everyones lives.

An elderly expatriate returns to the USA after a life overseas only to find that technology, and the social network, has changed his reality with several unintended consequences. The genesis of the story stems from my long-time friendship with Jim Menges, who wrote it, and who worked in the tech industry for over 30 years. I met him in Northern California when we were both interested in film: I went along the starving artist path, while Jim, my cameraman at the time, did his tech thing around the world. We stayed in touch. Jim retired in Thailand, where he’d been running microchip plants. After I went to Thailand to do some visual art with him (<a href="http://www.lifestyleartproject.com)" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">www.lifestyleartproject.com)</a>. I subsequently did some theatre here in Portland. Jim got excited and started writing, first theatre and then video ideas. I suggested that he write from his knowledge of the computer industry, the technology, and the people he knew. He wrote THE OLD ROGUE as well as other pieces. We had an actor’s reading while Jim visited me in Portland in August 2016 with Rick Sadle as Walter, and Tanya Thompson as BUI. We loved both of them. Jim returned to Bangkok, and wrote two seasons of episodes about Walter, The Old Rogue.

When robbing a coffee shop, a rebellious teenager must force a stubborn robot cashier to give her the cash before the police get there. “ Snow Must Fall” is a dramedy short film happening in a future coffee shop, an oasis amid a world filled with drugs and violence. A rebellious girl and a stubborn robot are connected in a robbery. The girl has been lost and addicted to drugs since her father’s death. The robot has been soberly trapped in the coffee shop for over a hundred years. They are different but also similar. After the robbery, the robot feels his freedom for a second, while Alison forgives herself and tries to drink coffee. In the cold raindrops, they set each other free. Snow Must Fall delivers a soul-searching exploration of two individuals - one robot and one girl - each trapped by their situations.&nbsp;The outstanding performance by the robot contributes to their transformation and sets them both free.

Sanatorium has been selected for 3 International Film Festivals so far, and won 'Best Student Short FIlm' at the Golden Horse International Film Festival 2022. Sanatorium entertains while also forcing the viewer to confront&nbsp;augmented reality, using the example of a school boy unwittingly caught&nbsp;up in an experiment where some of his classmates are avatars and reality is mixed with a twisted trial run.
