Ecologist Gabriella founded a business called The Good Ocean, where seaweed from Goa’s tide pools is hand harvested sustainably. They try to balance their efforts to elevate seaweed and have a viable business, as well as their need to make the beneficial seaweed accessible to communities along the coast. Their goals rely on bringing value to the rocky shore, in the hopes that valuable areas are protected. As they go about their business, they consciously try to protect Goan coastlines from invasive species of seaweed that threaten to ruin the delicate ecosystems, and attempt to elevate the coast by partnering with a prominent restaurant in Mumbai, Masque.
