On a stormy night in early 2021, a beached whale washes ashore at Nitzanim Beach, Israel. The film documents the encounters with the whale's body and the process of its burial. Throughout, phone calls between the director and those present reveal their personal reflections:

Tal, 52, a photographer, contemplates the existential connection she feels with the whale.

Asaf, 51, a news reporter covering the whale’s dissection, shares the emotional impact and ecological concerns he faced.

Lutfi, 27, a Bedouin tractor driver who buried the whale, describes his excitement at this rare opportunity.

Lutfi’s questions to the director intertwine with the filmmaker’s own experiences, creating a rich tapestry of emotional responses. The film captures a collective reflection on the dialogue between life and death. After the whale’s burial, life at the beach resumes, with passersby walking over the site, signalling a return to order.
