Ugyen Dorji is an aspiring singer who lives with his grandmother in Bhutan's capital city and dreams of getting a visa to move to Australia. But first, he must finish his government service, and his next assignment is to teach at a school in the most remote village in the Himalayas. As he acclimates to life without cell phone service and other modern luxuries, he bonds with the locals and learns to appreciate the value of yak dung in this charming fish-out-of-water story. Shot on location in the actual village of Lunana with local children and villagers, this was Bhutan's official film submission to the Academy Awards this year.
