Instructor: Sean Mannion

This workshop will dive into emerging technologies in the worlds of filmmaking, animation, commercial and television production and demonstrate the opportunities available for people to create and explore without having to make a substantial financial investment. From free smartphone apps and computer programs to web-based tools and opportunities this workshop will explore the wide range of opportunities for students to explore the emerging technologies in creative fields. Whether it’s Unreal Engine and Blender for creating 3D worlds, AI turning video into motion capture data for 3D animation, apps to create Augmented Reality experiences, or apps to scan real world objects to create digital assets there’s a wealth of tools available. These technologies are already starting to take over professional production workflows and demand for people with skills in these tools is only expected to increase in the future. Begin your exploration now.

Outcomes: Students will receive a digital handout during the workshop with links to opportunities to explore what is covered in this workshop in more depth.
