How do we stay connected to our Arab and queer identities when we are in a place that doesn’t recognize their intersection? How do we form our own relationships and identities within that intersection? To answer these questions, we are delighted to host four filmmakers from our Queer Lens shorts program in conversation with Raed Rafei. This panel explores the themes of queer exile and the quest for queer ancestors within the Arab region and diasporas. It discusses short films as a space and tool for uncovering hidden queer narratives in Arab culture and history.
