FILM SYNOPSIS:
Gaudi left us a spectacular work. And an unfinished creation: the Sagrada Familia.
A huge cathedral project, whose rules and spirit must be understood in order to bring it to completion. A challenge that has occupied the successors of the great Catalan architect for more than a century. And it is now approaching its end.
The film traces this quest for the dream work, from the origins of his inspiration to the most recent architectural decisions.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Director and author of more than thirty documentary films, Marc Jampolsky is particularly interested in the search for traces of ancient history thanks to today technologies and sciences. He has thus followed numerous archaeological expeditions, devoted to the discovery and analysis of the remains dating from proto-urban times, the Middle Ages or more recent times.
More recently, in co-writing with Marie Thiry, it is the secrets of the great monuments that he undertook to break through thanks to the performance of digitization systems, geo-prospecting and a real work of field investigation (Cathedral of Strasbourg, Castle of Chambord, Mont St Michel, Versailles, Vatican-in project).
Most of his films have won awards at major international festivals.
