
As the war in Yemen continues, professor and documentary filmmaker Brent E. Huffman partnered with the Swiss-based nonprofit ALIPH, the international alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas, to create two short documentaries documenting efforts by Yemeni citizens to save their incredible world heritage in the cities of Taiz and Dhamar.
Yemen is home to five UNESCO world heritage sites, the region where the Queen of Sheba from the Bible reigned, some of the oldest Arabic writing ever discovered, as well as the birthplace of coffee.
This incredible heritage is threatened by war, looting, and climate change. Brave Yemeni heritage workers are risking their lives to save this incredible history before it is lost forever.
