SYNOPSIS

On the coast of Lebanon lies one of the oldest cities in the world: Byblos. During antiquity, this powerful and prosperous city was an important center of trade and cultural exchange with Egypt and Mesopotamia.

 

Its excavation taking place for over a century, it was believed that Byblos had revealed all its secrets... But now, new discoveries and texts unveil a surprising and spectacular side of Byblos.

 

 ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Born in Beirut, Philippe Aractingi is a self-taught French-Lebanese writer, director, producer and photographer.

 

Renowned filmmaker, Philippe Aractingi has received over forty awards for his documentaries and his 4 feature films, at various international festivals such as Venice, Sundance, Dubai, Thessaloniki, Rotterdam...

 

His films Bosta and Sous les bombes represented Lebanon at the Oscars in 2006 and 2008.
