SYNOPSIS
Sardinia, a tiny Mediterranean island barely the size of Hawaii hides the remains of an ancient civilization that appeared here almost 4,000 years ago.
While Pharaohs of Egypt were building their last pyramids this powerful new civilization was inventing fortress-like towers known as nuraghe, religious sanctuaries and extraordinary geometrically shaped tombs. Who were the Nuraghic people who built these monuments?
In the last five years a team of international archaeologists and scientists has been studying the ruins as never before helping to unlock the secrets of one of the most remarkable Bronze Age cultures the Mediterranean has ever known.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
With a PhD in Ancient History and Civilization from the Université de Paris IV Sorbonne, Thomas Marlier has been turning to his other passions for the past 20 years: cinema and documentaries.
Author, director and historian, he now writes and directs historical and scientific documentaries, as well as fictional documentaries, on subjects as varied as architecture in Venice, astronaut Thomas Pesquet, medieval Andalusia, global warming, etc.
Author of several scientific articles in his academic field, he also addresses the general public. This approach is omnipresent in his films: his desire is to stage historical and scientific content in a way that makes it accessible to a non-specialist audience, while never losing sight of the dramaturgical requirements.
