SYNOPSIS

Following the fire that ravaged Notre-Dame de Paris, an extraordinary archaeological dig revealed unexpected treasures that had been hidden for centuries beneath the cathedral’s stone floor: two lead sarcophaguses, along with a thousand sculpted fragments of the former rood screen - destroyed in the 18th century.

These discoveries turned out to be so exceptional that the excavation work was extended several times, despite the urgent need to restore the monument.

A fascinating historical and scientific investigation during which many experts (archaeologists, anthropologists, forensic scientists, art historians, restorers…) will attempt to decipher the secrets of these relics. Using cutting-edge technology, they will throw fresh light on the history of Notre-Dame.
