Nestled in the heart of Armenia, the Tshakhruk Ethnoband is composed entirely of special needs children that reside in the state-run Children’s Home. Under the leadership of sisters Anna and Anahit Mkhtiryan, the ensemble gathers together day-after-day in the music room to rehearse. In a few weeks, they will headline an international festival to a crowd of hundreds. Through the rich tradition of Armenian folk music, these talented musicians, who refuse to be defined by their physical challenges, discover the transformative power of art, as they reconnect with their roots. The Falcons offers the viewer a glimpse into an often unseen world, where remarkable talents and boundless determination unite the children. In the music room of the Children’s Home, life is a celebration, regardless of background or abilities.
