It is up to Sue, the zoo keeper, and Harvey, the park mascot, to get him back into his cage before he gets taken down by the animal control officer.

The Spinning Top

The film depicts thoughts and feelings of a mother with her so-called mentally disabled son. While she moves with him through everyday life, her ambivalent feelings, her struggles to accept him as he is, get in her way. The story is told as an associative montage of scenes, following feelings and experiences of the mother, as we listen to her inner monologue.

I made final_final with no script or planning. Each day I picked up where I left off and it evolved into a cast of shiny characters. This is an experimental character based short film and incorporates a playful, intuitive approach to making animation.

“The Hole” is about a mother bird with a big hole in her heart, on a journey of searching for her baby son that fails to fly and accidentally falls into a hole. With an original sound track by Green Seo, Will Kim uses watercolor animation technique to reflect on his personal and universal experience of tragedy and despair.
