Before moving to LA, Atlantans knew UGA grad Steve Yockey as the playwright responsible for edgy material produced at Dad's Garage, 7 Stages, Out of Hand, and Actor's Express. Now he’s one of the LA's hottest TV writers with the success of his HBO MAX hit TV series The Flight Attendant. In 2021, the show was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy, for a Writers Guild of America Award for Best New Series, for a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress in a Comedy Series, and for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.

This conversation from the 2021 Atlanta Film Festival Creative Conference discusses how he transitioned from playwright to screenwriter and producer, how he pitched the adaptation of the book to land the series, and what he's learned about working in and running a writer's room.
