MEET THE FILMMAKER: TRISTAN KIM

“Run That Shit!” is Tristan Kim’s first major short out of university. Growing up in Savannah, Georgia he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Currently, he works as the in-house director at AdMilk, an off-the-cuff ad agency he helped establish in 2020. Tristan is currently in the early stages of developing another short film that examines the deep-rooted anger unique to the southeastern United States. Including themes of capital punishment and dystopian technology, the piece hopes to bring attention to a dangerous and divisive way of thinking that continues to grow in the South. “Run That Shit!” was a deeply personal film for Tristan, so much so that he sold his antique Volvo pictured in the film to help cover post-production costs.
