After the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident, towns around the plant became an evacuation zone. Pets were allowed to evacuate, but farm animals weren’t. Considered unfit for consumption and economically worthless, they were left to starve or culled. However, Satsuki Tani fought to save them. Momo Garden is about the cows she rescued and the new life they found together.
