She also won a Leo Award for the same character. In 2013, Whistler Film Festival, Elle Canada, and Variety named her "Rising Star of the Festival". Variety also featured her as "International Star You Should Know" in their July issue. In 2014, the Hollywood Reporter named Ali as one of the "Next Generation 15 Hottest Canadian Talents under 35".

After spending the night, crafts gets made and things get weird. Director's Bio:Francesca de Fusco is an Italian American Filmmaker, MFA candidate at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and recipient of the Willard T.C. Johnson Fellowship 2020. Her work has screened at Edinburgh International Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest, Indie Memphis, and NewFest. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Their short, FRAN THIS SUMMER, an LGBTQ summer love story has screened in numerous festivals, including the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Mary’s feature film, BURNING WELL, is in development and part of the 2020 Tribeca All Access Program.

LA GLORIA

JACK AND ANNA Based on true events from the early 1900s, “Jack and Anna” tells the story of a young couple whose happy life on their farm is suddenly shattered when Jack’s biggest secret is revealed: the fact that he is a woman named Helen. After the revelation, Helen is put on trial for cross-dressing and same-sex marriage. Director's Bio:<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/eb9c5b195b4b5334de4d9142657f899f.jpg" width="150" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;">Ksenia Ivanova is a Chicago-based filmmaker. Originally from Russia, she has dreamed of being a filmmaker since her childhood. Ksenia attended The Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK) and while a student worked on Russian TV shows for several years. After graduating from Moscow Film School, she continued to work on TV shows and made three independent projects as a film producer and director. Ksenia’s films have been screened at a multitude of film festivals around the globe where she has won quite a few awards.

A young woman is put on trial for cross-dressing and same-sex marriage in the early 1900s.

IN ORBIT There was once and invisible optician living in a strange and lonely world. Her story starts with a broken lens and the woman who taught her to see things differently. Director's Bio:<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/776a12d827e8b95d0bb993fd6bc86bcc.jpg" width="150" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;">Katie McNeice is an Irish filmmaker based in Dublin, and a UCC Film MA alumna. She made her directorial debut with&nbsp;IN ORBIT. Other other credits include co-writing the LGBT feature film LILY with Graham Cantwell, an adaptation of the IFTA-nominated short of the same title.&nbsp;Next up is the Irish language short FOCAIL BAILE CROÍ (Words Home Heart), Winner of the 2020 Comortas Fisín Pitching Competition.
