That’s what woodturner Bill Karow believes, and what drives him in his craft: to reshape people’s opinions about the things they perceive as worthless, and to find joy in that process. The most water logged and shreddy good samaritans in Oregon. RIVER LOOTERS&nbsp;is the third documentary short that she has Directed and self Produced. Before film, Rebecca worked in the outdoor industry teaching whitewater kayaking and multi-discipline courses for youth. Real people, real life and real stories has always been Rebecca's passion in filmmaking, and RIVER LOOTERS&nbsp;is a reflection of that.

CENTURY: SUMMER Shot entirely on 16mm color film, CENTURY: SUMMER showcases hough's family farm in St. Paul, Oregon. The farm was recently awarded Century Farm status by the state of Oregon, having been farmed by her family for over 100 years. Her Uncle has operated the farm independently since the 1990's, and now finds himself in transition as he moves into retirement. The film highlights life on the small farm while in high production during the Summer months, emphasizing how to connect with land, work and family history. Director's Bio: <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/b8be040c8c7bc1990eb9c098ad3ce523.jpg" width="150" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;">Stephanie Hough (she/her) is an experimental filmmaker, commercial producer and director of photography whose work explores repetition, gender, relationships and emotional landscapes. Her films HOW TO FEEL (DV, 2010), HEART (16mm, 2013), SPOOKY ACTION AT A DISTANCE (Super 8, 2016) have screened in the NW Filmmaker’s Festival, Portland International Film Festival, Experimental Film Festival PDX, BendFilm, The Boathouse Microcinema, TriBeca Film Center and more. As an educator with the Northwest Film Center, Pacific University and the PNCA, hough has a passion for sharing analog film techniques and making learning accessible for all.&nbsp;

GIANTS During 2015 Everett Custom Homes purchased a property in Portland’s Eastmoreland Neighborhood. On the lot stood three giant sequoias, which the developer planned to cut down. "Giants" details the efforts and challenges neighbors of Eastmoreland confronted in their attempts to save these unique trees. The film brings a fresh look into local activism and highlights the importance of community organizing. Director's Bio:<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/e770c7b49e99d21aeae97a05c11d5684.jpg" width="150" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;">Luz Carasa is a filmmaker, video editor, writer, and storyteller based in Portland, Oregon. She is passionate about crafting powerful stories that surprise and entertains the audience. Luz has experience working in advertising for clients like Nike, Adidas and Columbia Sportswear, networks, like PBS-OPB and independent documentaries like: WALKING THE CAMINO: 6 WAYS TO SANTIAGO, SEED: THE UNTOLD STORY, BURLESQUE: HEART OF THE GLITTER TRIBE. GIANTS is her first work as a director and is part of an anthology called Canopy Stories and produced by NW Documentary.
