
"The Sea will embrace you." For the past 1000 years, on the remote South Korean island of Jeju, the sisterhood of Haenyeo divers have sustained themselves by hand-harvesting a variety of sea life. In a changing world where 98% of the divers are now over 50 years old, a mother and daughter attempt to restore their relationship while preserving their heritage.

Vern is an award-winning filmmaker, director, producer and owner of Long Beach Film Company. Described as a one-man cinematic army, his work has taken him around the world, under and across the seas, while filming for the likes of: Led Zeppelin, Noel Gallagher, Radiohead, Nike, Elton John, Foo Fighters, Rag & Bone, Jack White, Nas, Leon Bridges, Cold War Kids, Moby, PBS, Spotify, Chris Stapleton, Dixie Chicks, Beck, and plenty more. In 2010, he was aboard the experimental ship Plastiki - a 60' catamaran made from 10,000 plastic bottles that crossed the Pacific Ocean. After graduating from Biola University, he lived in a 1972 Winnebago Chieftain for two years to pay off school debt and buy his first camera. Now look at him.
