Sophia, a young musician, arrives at an LA house party full of struggling twenty-somethings. Eager to ask her crush, Jacob, to be her date to her sister’s wedding, his hot-and-cold behavior leaves her confused. As she confides in her distracted friends—each wrapped up in their own dramas—a deeper truth begins to surface.
Filmmaker Bio: Erin Brown Thomas is a writer, director, and producer whose latest project, CHASERS—a bold, 31-minute single-continuous-shot pilot—premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and made its LA debut at Slamdance, marking the first narrative project accepted into both festivals. Over 15 years, Erin has directed across genres, specializing in dramas that masquerade as comedies until delivering an emotional gut punch. Her writing explores unchecked ambition, social imbalances, and critiques industrialized Christianity, blending tones into genre-defying stories.
Her films have screened at Cannes, won “Best TV” at HollyShorts, and taken home top prizes at Cinequest and Walla Walla Movie Crush. A Nicholl Fellowship Semifinalist, Erin’s scripts have advanced in major competitions, including Sundance New Voices and SeriesFest’s Shondaland Women in Film Mentorship program. As co-founder of Salute Your Shorts Film Festival, she advocates for emerging talent in the indie film industry.
