Filmmaker Bio: Shaina Feinberg (she/they) is an award-winning American filmmaker and writer. She spent her twenties making a stoner, punk sketch show called The Spew. Her film, My Mom’s Eggplant Sauce (2022), opened the Aspen Film Festival, played Hot Docs, Rotterdam International, Palm Springs and more. Her doc, A Brief History of Hating My Face (2023), was commissioned by The New York Times. She was a recipient of the Reboot Studio's grant (2023) for her film, We Should Eat. Her film, Cleo From 8:20 to 2:35, won a New York Foundation for the Arts grant (2024). She is a 2025 resident at JFI with her feature documentary about the TV director, Joan Darling. She's co-authored three books and had a column in The New York Times (2019-2024).
