"Always On", Jeremy Gold, President of Production for Blumhouse. Moderated by Producer and BIFF Consultant David Tochterman.

In today's entertainment world, the lines can be grey between television and film for both producers and audiences. With Jeremy Gold, we will discuss how the popularity of streaming platforms and binge-watching has affected the programming of "exclusive" or "original" content for filmmakers and audiences.

Blumhouse is one of the most successful film and television companies in recent history. The film studio is behind well-known film franchises such as Halloween, The Purge, and Paranormal Activity. Since joining Blumhouse Television, Jeremy has helped to expand the brand beyond horror content to explore not only genre material but also dark, provocative subject matter for streaming and television platforms, including a slate of films with Epix and the Welcome to the Blumhouse slate for Amazon Prime. Under Gold, Blumhouse has released award-winning projects including the Emmy-nominated limited series “Sharp Objects,” starring Amy Adams and Patricia Clarkson (who won a Golden Globe for her role); miniseries “The Loudest Voice,” starring Russell Crowe in a Golden Globe-winning performance; and the Peabody Award-winning limited series “The Good Lord Bird,” starring Ethan Hawke. Gold joined Blumhouse from Endemol Shine, where he launched Endemol Studios and oversaw the long-running, award-winning AMC drama “Hell on Wheels".

David Tochterman is CEO of Canvas Media Studios, a venture capital backed studio and distributor for film, television and digital/social platforms. David is also a digital strategy consultant for media, technology, and brand clients, as well as political campaigns. Prior to Canvas, David was a partner in production company Pemberley Digital, winners of two Prime Time Emmys for Interactive Media on YouTube.  As a senior television executive and producer, he has developed and produced programming for all networks and worked on hit series' that have won over 25 Emmy Awards and Nominations.
