In this part-animated, part-live-action film, a professor has dedicated his life to studying his hero, President Coolidge, and his pet Pygmy Hippopotamus, Billy. Through his research, he discovers that he and Billy are more alike than he could have imagined. Journeying through similar life paths, the professor must uncover new information about Billy that ultimately leads him to self-discovery through a series of tragic events.
