Process is a short film by Christian Padron featuring music from Samora Pinderhughes. It is a meditation on grief and loss, dedicated to all those we have lost during these unpredictable and tumultuous times. This film is for those in mourning and all those supporting each other.

This ritual story remembers an evening on MLK Day ’19, where Lead to Life, a collective that transforms guns into the otherwise, to commemorate Black folks and land impacted by the wake of violence, transforms guns into the constellations above Oscar Grant as they appeared 10 years prior, on the evening he was murdered.

A search for solidarity in the sounds and colors of a spontaneous movement in Delhi led by Muslim women, an Iqbal Bano song, the poetry of Agha Shahid Ali, and images of B.R. Ambedkar-a radical anti-caste Dalit intellectual-all revolving around a letter addressed to a distant relative.

This film is a reaction to colonialism & quarantine. It's made from multiple perspectives and experiences, pieced together. There are various qualities of footage: lo-fi camcorders, iPhone, archival images and screen recordings. The content is based on a question of how to keep our communities safe.
