Tahnaanooku'
A grandmother. A source of existence. A portal to other worlds. For thousands of years, the Indigenous Peoples of what is now known as North and South Dakota co-existed reciprocally with the Missouri River, its waters offering life while also inspiring legends and languages. In TAHNAANOOKU', filmmaker Justin Deegan takes an experimental approach to the severing of this relationship between his community — the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara — and the river, the result of over 80 years of US government efforts to control the Missouri, including via the Garrison Dam.
Saving Superman
In a small suburb outside of Chicago lives Jonathan, a 57 year old man with ASD (autism spectrum disorder), also known as ‘Superman’. When Jonathan’s living circumstances were threatened by a new building owner, the townspeople sprung into action after his best friend Julie started a fundraiser to save his home.
Coywolf
In the bustling chaos of New York City, coyotes lurk in the shadows, hidden in plain sight and largely unknown to their human neighbors. COYWOLF explores how we relate to wildlife in urban environments and blurs the lines between city and nature.
