Trusting Chloe is written and directed by Todd Long. Todd is a Professor in the Philosophy Department at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California, where he specializes in epistemology, moral responsibility, and philosophy of religion. He also acts and directs (movies & stage), write s(songs, screenplays, poetry, & homilies), makes rock and roll records (solo & with Mission 66), and speaks to groups (popular philosophy, film, theology).
The two additional short films are a collaboration of two Cal Poly classes: ISLA 340 Storytelling, in which students learn to write short personal screenplays, and ISLA 341 Cinematic Process, where students take those screenplays and pitch them to the class. Students vote on the scripts and the winning screenplays are then produced in groups of four. Students are responsible for all aspects of production -- casting, storyboarding, location scouting, filming, and editing. In many cases these are first time filmmakers, but they learn a lot in the process and through hard work and collaboration they create thoughtful, entertaining, and award-winning films. Thank you to professor Randi Barros and the students for sharing their work. Randi is also the editor of Trusting Chloe.
A middle-aged rock star and his ardent Latina wife scramble to rein in their wacky love life and their misbehaving teen daughter in a comedy set on California's Central Coast.
