INTRODUCING CIFF LOVE LETTERS: Valentines day has come early! We’ve thought a lot this year about how we can build connections between audience members and filmmakers within a virtual space. One of the hardest things about this year for filmmakers, is that they have not been able to forge spontaneous connections with audiences and hear from them directly. If you’ve seen a film you have loved, click HERE to write a love letter to a filmmaker!

This film follows Sweetwater Sahme and Jordan Mercier'as they wander through the natural world and contemplate the afterlife, rebirth, and the place in-between. Spoken mostly in chinuk wawa, their stories are departures from the Chinookan origin of death myth, with its distant beginning and circular shape. Overgrown ferns, waterfalls tucked into rock, and open expanses of the Columbia River Basin give flowing frame to this modern mythological journey to find one’s place in the present. (JA)
