INTRODUCING CIFF LOVE LETTERS: Valentines day has come early! We’ve thought a lot this year about how we can build connections between audience members and filmmakers within a virtual space. One of the hardest things about this year for filmmakers, is that they have not been able to forge spontaneous connections with audiences and hear from them directly. If you’ve seen a film you have loved, click HERE to write a love letter to a filmmaker!
The Viewing Booth will screen virtually from October 2-12, 2020.
A young American student’s face is bathed in blue light as she sits alone in a dark studio to participate in a viewing experiment. She is instructed to watch a series of carefully curated Youtube videos from the West Bank that depict home raids, violence, and social unrest in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories. The experiment is designed to inspire reflection, integration, and deeper awareness of self and the issues at hand, but Maia’s reactions run counter to all expectations as we learn that each image has its negative, equal in power and polarity.
