For years, the Points North Pitch has been one of CIFF’s most popular events, filling the Camden Opera House on Saturday morning with nervous anticipation.
Whether you’re a film professional or not, the Points North Pitch is an invaluable chance to learn about the process of developing a documentary film, see first-hand how leading decision makers evaluate projects, and meet some incredibly talented early-career filmmakers.
Six filmmaking teams selected for the Points North Fellowship will pitch their works-in-progress to a distinguished panel of funders, distributors, and producers, followed by feedback and questions moderated by Marjan Safinia and Brian Newman. This year's Pitch panelists include representatives from Ford Foundation, Sundance Institute, Concordia Studio, ITVS, Field of Vision and Catapult Film Fund.
The projects selected for this year's Fellowship and Pitch are:
- Q (Jude Chehab)
- Esu and the Universe (Thiago Zanato, Adriana Barbosa)
- Seeking Mavis Beacon (Jazmin Jones, Guetty Felin, Olivia Ross)
- I Didn’t See You There (Reid Davenport, Keith Wilson)
- River of Grass (Sasha Wortzel, Danielle Varga)
- The Tuba Thieves (Alison O'Daniel, Rachel Nederveld)
