BRING THEM HOME is a documentary short about the plight of discarded American heroes, deported veterans. After creating the song "Excuse My Accent," artists Robert "Rob Young" Walker and Andrei "Drei Ros" Rosca stumbled across the story of Hector Barajas; a deported American veteran. Upon hearing his baffling story, they decide to shed light on the issue. The two connected with experts and traveled to Tijuana Mexico gathering first hand stories from deported veterans at "The Bunker," which is a meeting place for veterans who are currently exiled. This honest documentary brings awareness to a complex problem by following the story of Hector Barajas and his initiative to start The Deported Veterans Support House.

Gustavo Arellano was the author of the nationally syndicated column, “Ask a Mexican,” and the editor of OC Weekly. He is currently a columnist for the Los Angeles Times and host of their daily news podcast, “The Times.”

To be Black and a police officer in the United States' third largest local law enforcement agency, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), is to take an oath to serve while facing racial disparities within the department itself. Black Before Blue holds space for a forum of intimate conversations between twenty-one Black retired and active police officers as they unveil racial and gender discrimination they've experienced in the department.
Their assimilation into the blue brotherhood came with hurdles that were setup by their counterparts, and anchored by bigotry. As a result, these Black officers struggled in the hiring process, experiencing disproportionate promotion opportunities despite having qualifications in alignment with their colleagues, and they frequently experienced increased disciplinary sanctions when compared to their peers. Black women in particular often experienced careers riddled with discriminatory consequences related to both their gender and ethnicity— a "double-edged sword."
As the officers' stories of the past parallel those of present day, they express their frustrations about recent viral incidents of police brutality and the resulting worldwide civil unrest, concerned that history could repeat itself. From recalling the days before squad cars were racially integrated to anecdotes about their white colleagues' frequent use of the n-word, these emotionally honest stories expose the truth about what concerned them about the department, and give insight into what inspired them to see their journeys through.

We see and feel the difficult experiences that Dr. Eisenhour endures inside the hospital and the miracles that she experiences with her patients and their owners.

Darren was a military vet who was looking for a fresh start when he left the service. After landing a last-minute acting gig in an adult film, his new career as a performer took off. But his fast-paced life came to a crashing halt when he contracted HIV on a porn set. Labeled a pariah by the adult industry, Darren speaks about the unsafe working conditions in porn as he struggles to put his life back together.

Not permitted into the hospital to say goodbye, he began working with a Danish dancer remotely to create a performance that processes the emotions he and many have shared worldwide. The result is a look behind the curtain into the process of a modern master interpreting loss into physical form - and a powerful beacon of hope to carry us through uncertain times.
