The summer before senior year in 1985, exuberant Hollywood-wannabe Clementine and her chill, garage rocker best friend, Ava, are bouncing between goofing off like they’re still 12 and stressing about their futures like they’re 30. Unlike most high school seniors, Clementine has been exchanging letters with her future self via a magical mailbox for years. When Clementine stops receiving letters back, she panics and accidentally zaps her and Ava through the mailbox all the way to 2015- a foreign future full of robotic vacuums and mysterious “clap-on” lights. Once they get their bearings, Clementine makes the crushing discovery that her glamorous, Hollywood expectations don’t match up with Future Clementine’s reality. However, by meeting Future Clementine and Future Ava, Clementine learns to calm her obsession with being a star and find fulfillment through living in the moment with her best friend for their last year of high school.
