LIFE: PLASTIC WRAPPED “Only we humans make waste that nature can’t digest.” - Charles Moore. Life: Plastic Wrapped is a collaborative dancefilm by Sasha Chudacoff. It was filmed and edited during March/April 2020 Quarantine. Plastics are making a HUGE comeback due to covid-19. The increase of plastic production and waste has been directly affected by this global pandemic. Through dancefilm and poetry, Sasha "stays with the trouble of plastic" in all its' metaphors in our modern times. Owning her personal participation in the plastic problem and climate catastrophe is part of this story; however now in current times of global pandemic and systematic social change, this piece takes on new layers of complication and depth. In addition to playing as a part of Narrative Shorts Program 4, LIFE: PLASTIC WRAPPED will play in front of BAIT and THE STORY OF PLASTIC. Director BioFilmmaker Sasha Chudacoff used the Covid-19 lockdown to tackle the damage plastics do to our planet in the best way she can: through dance.&nbsp;

SISTER In this Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Film, a man thinks back to his childhood memories of growing up with an annoying little sister in China in the 1990s. In Mandarin with English subtitles. Director BioBorn in China, Siqi Song is a Writer/Director/Animator based in Los Angeles, CA. Song is the recipient of the 2018 LAIKA Animation Fellowship and Film Independent Project Involve Fellow. Her work has won top awards at Aspen ShortsFest, Austin Film Festival, Foyle Film Festival and have been shown in many prestigious film festivals, including Sundance Film Festival, SXSW Film Festival, Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Ottawa International Animation Festival and more. Siqi is an alum of China Central Academy of Fine Arts and California Institute of the Arts."

On a misty night cows escape, a child is chosen, and a teenager tries to find freedom. In Spanish with English subtitles. Director BioAgustina San Martín was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1991. She studied filmmaking at University of Buenos Aires, where she later worked as a screenwriting professor. She is also a director of photography and colorist. Agustina also worked as DoP in films like The Future Perfect (2016), from German director Nele Wohlatz (Best First Feature at Locarno) and short films like “Héctor” from Chilean director Victoria Giesen, which premiered at the Official Competition of the 69th Berlinale Film Festival. Agustina directed her first short film “The cry of the oxen” (2015) which premiered at the Festival de Cartagena and took part of the Mar del Plata Film Festival. It won best short at FICIC, Festival de Cine del Desierto in Mexico and won INCAA TV. It was nominated for the Premios Cóndor. In 2017, “Swedish Cousin”, Agustina’s second short film, premiered in the 67th Berlinale Film Festival and won First Prize in BAFICI, Best short at the Festival de Cine de Huelva, Best LGBT short film at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Ciudad de Mexico. It had a broad festival tour, as part of the official selection at VLAFF, Zinebi, Panoramic Stockholm Latinoamerican Film Festival and Queer Lisboa. In 2019 Agustina premiered her third short film, “Monster God” at the Cannes Film Festival in the Short Film Official Competition and won the Jury Prize with President Jury Claire Denis. Later making a festival tour which included the prize Golden Camera 300 at the Manaki Brothers Festival and toured between festivals like AFI Fest, La Habana, Curtacinema Río, El Gouna among others. “Matar a la bestia”, her feature film, participated in the Script Station of the 66º Berlinale Talents 2016. With it, she was part of BAFICI BAL, Bolivia Lab and Los Residentes in Paraguay. It also competed in La Habana Film Festival Script Competition. It is a was shot in the border between Argentina and Brazil. She was invited by Franz Rodenkirchen to be a part of the Three Rivers residency to develop a second film. In 2020, she participated in Cinemart with it. In 2020, Agustina was selected to participate in the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative to be the alumni of the director, composer, actor and Broadway talent, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

GHAZAAL A 13-year-old Afghan refugee hustles in a refugee camp, trying to survive the harsh circumstances as she experiences her period. In Dari with English subtitles. Director BioRagini Bhasin is an Indian filmmaker, born and raised in New Delhi. Graduated from Chapman University with an MFA in Film Directing, her films usually explore themes that are considered taboo and characters that are outcast. She gravitates towards documentary-like realism, casting non-actors and letting their behavior drive the narrative.Her award-winning short film Ghazaal has played Oscar-qualifying festivals worldwide and won the Meredith Macrae Memorial Award sponsored by Women In Film, ARTE channel award where they acquired the distribution rights for Germany, France, and Belgium. She is currently in the development stage of her first feature, Everything is ok.

OLLA <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/1a1c8e89d69233ce515e5d797cd13aee.png" width="252" style="display: inline; float: left; margin: 0px 1em 1em 0px;">OLLA has answered an ad on a dating website and moved in with her husband-to-be and his comatose mother. Things only get stranger from there. Director BioAriane Labed made her debut in cinema as an actress in 2010 in Attenberg by Athina Tsangari, for which she received the Copa Volpi at the Venice Film Festival. She studied dance, theatre and co-founded the Vasistas theatre Company. As an actor she has worked with many internationally acclaimed directors. Olla is her first film as a writer and director.
